About me

Hello out there!

My name is Eve Dembowski. I am an American born Astrologer now living in Melbourne, Australia. I trained as a musician and flower essence therapist, but my passion is astrology, especially horary. I hold a diploma of applied astrology from Astro-synthesis, a certificate in medieval astrology from Robert Zoller and a master diploma in Horary from the STA. Over the years I have continued with my own study and research, with an emphasis on classical (pre 1700) astrology and medical astrology.

In 2012 I  become a tutor for the STA (School of Traditional Astrology), and started teaching the STA certificate course in horary, which had previously only been presented by Deborah Houlding as a five day intensive.  I have reformatted the course to make it available as an 18 week online course. If you are interested in doing the course please email me on eve@sta.co

Having started my astrological journey like so many of my contemporaries, with modern psychological astrology, steeped in the work of Jung and company, I have long since moved away from this and into the more archaic and satisfying world of traditional astrology. Most of my understanding of natal astrology has come from my clients and four children who provided me with 24 hours a day, hands-on experience. I have been studying horary astrology for nearly 10 years and have come to understand that it is far more then simply a way of answering questions.

I teach, present workshops and lecture on traditional astrology and astrological philosophy. If you are interested in a reading please call 0401847412 or email eve@sta.co to make an appointment. In the meantime I hope that you will enjoy my astrological musing as much as I enjoy writing them.

  3. Eve – I just read the section on the descent of the soul through the planetary spheres. This is entirely new to me, very interesting, and I would like to learn more about it. Can you recommend a book or online resource where I can get more information?

    • Hi Eliza,

If you would like some more information about this, the hermetic roots of classical astrology you could check out:
John Frawley “The Real Astrology” (the best place the start) and “The Real Astrology Applied”
Also “The Imaginal Cosmos: Astrology, Divination and the Sacred” edited by Angela Voss and Jean Hinson Lall . This is a series of academic lectures some which are very good, some not so. Also check out Deborah Houldings website skyscript.com There always interesting stuff on her site.

  4. Hi Eve,

We have chatted on email before – you kindly allowed me to publish your article on receptions when i was the editor of Aspects (of ASSA).

I know you have also been in contact with Jackie Brook who has started AORTA in SA. I have left ASSA and joined her in AORTA. I will be the editor of The Chamber, which will be our official magazine.

If you have any articles you would allow us to publish i would be most grateful. The first edition is due out on 20 Sept. There will be four publications per year, each named for a temperament.

    Kind regards
    Gloria Ford

  8. Hello to every body, it’s my first pay a visit of this blog;
this website consists of amazing and actually good stuff in support of readers.

  9. Hello you were recommended by an astrologer friend. She had been my astrologer for some 10 years but unfortunately she passed away last year. She left her best recommendations to her best friend who is my best friend that just passed it to me. So it comes from a chain of best friends’ love and good vibes. I would love to join your blogs and Al, and maybe a consultation sometime in the future. Thanks.

    • Hi Andrea,
I am please and honored that you heard of me through this chain of best friends. It is nice to meet you. I have to admit that this blog is very neglected as i get busy with teaching and clients so neglect to keep my blog up to date. As I am about to relaunch my course on traditional natal astrology after the enforced Covid break, I have been contemplating creating/establishing a website.
You can always contact me through this blog.
      Eve D
